Old Plummer Terriers

Recommended Posts

Guess i'll have to try and get me foot in the door then or find someone who don't charge the earth. It's not the price as such..it's the principle . Never showed a dog in me life and never will. The one i get(if i get one) will be used for cover work for the big dogs.

Expensive for a pretty looking russel terrier :whistling:

What's made you decide on a plummer for bushing over say a spaniel/hound cross or whatever stabba? And what about the dog getting to ground whilst bushing? The terriers wont come off the lead will we're at an earth round here, only when on ground i know well and even than ive had a few accidents :icon_redface: Genuine question not being funny! Good luck in finding what your after mate

Why? Because there'll be every chance i may want to dig to the dog. Not exclusivley but the odd dig now and again. The dog will be used for ratting/bushing(all game) and like i said. Perhaps the odd dig. Plus i like the little critters

I personally wouldn't be happy with having terriers bushing on land unless i knew it very well! Me & a few mates have had terriers drop into horrible places like this and lost a couple between us, but if you know the land... no worries i suppose  id prefer something a little larger, hound cross or something... saying that we had a couple of beagles which were dug to a few times!

Right, moving on.

Pepsi

This bitch is in a few pedigrees, I dug to her a few times ( 1999 - 2003 ) not lots though. But More than enough to make my mind up about her.

That statement "Not a lot "suited me fine, i was nervous round her, I always thought she wanted to bite me..!!,

She was a good finder and stayer, what more do you need..?

I Was on my to notts years ago, not really going for a dig more for a chat

Half was there I got diverted to a sand quarry, were a few lads were on a dig, Pepsi was there fastened up, wanting in but a little Russell was nearly to a fox,

Anyway to cut a long story short.. A big lump of sand flopped on this Russell and buried it.

We manage to get it out, ( russell ) the fox was still up the tube, somewhere. .? Totally blocked off

Anyway we let Pepsi off, she was digging and scratching, after about 20 mins she disappeared out of view

Finally she got to this fox, through shear determination.

This next bit was a bit of a blur.... For some reason I was handed this fox to release it,but it have got a gob full of Pepsi's back foot.!!

And was proper locked on

I had got this fox in one hand, and was trying to get it off her foot, someone had got Pepsi by the scruff, wasn't watching were her mouth was....

Next thing I new, add got this cranky nutcase hanging off my wrist..

Like I said earlier, I suited me not being in Pepsi's company.

Bit dear for me...

I prefer free, gifted pups

Yup and i think the £300 £400 price tag has been the ruination of the breed. Money grabbing at it's finest.

Its a joke, I don't see how anyone with the true working interest of the breed at heart would ever charge such a stupid amount of money.
