I am concerned that in the 21st century we allow religion to dictate the way an animal is killed, be that religion Islam or any other. If we have the means to reduce suffering whilst killing we have an obligation as informed and moral human beings to do so. I can not believe that in this day and age anyone can believe that their God would insist in prolonging the pain of any creature, this is what happens when people blindly follow the written word without using common sense. We are not a muslim country, if I wanted these outdated and barbaric practices involved in my existence I would emigrate to countries that practice such rituals. We have spent hundreds of years clawing our way above cruelty to both animals and humans and we are letting those that live in the past drag us back there. We should be moving forward. When is one of our politicians gonna grow a pair and say.......................NO, this is Britain, we don't do that here and if you don't like it, I suggest that you go elsewhere. When in Rome, live as the romans do, if I travelled abroad, I would follow the countries rules, if I couldn't accept them, I wouldn't go there. Why do we have to change our rules for those visiting us, it just dosen't make sense to me at all.

They HAVE to tell everyone they do it as it's advertised in all their shops. Doesn't make it humane. It might only take a few seconds to bleed out, but it must be better to be stunned while it's happening.

Muslims and Jews might find non-Halal meat offensive, but I find Halal meat equally offensive.

well said mate

but according to countryfile over 80% of halal meat is stunned prior to slaughter :hmm:

So the Muslim they asked said, yes. And if saying a prayer while slaughtering in the "normal" way makes it Halal, then so be it. But he also mentioned the hardcore Muslims who insisted that the animals were conscious to hear the prayer. Assuming they speak Arabic. Can you really believe the stun some, and not others to cater for their religion? I don't.

What they do and say on TV and what they do behind closed doors i suspect are very different.

but the point is it can not be both humane to stun and humane not to stun surely as it begs the question why are we stunning on the grounds of a humane slaughter in the first place :hmm:

Are you taking the piss?

Lets see would you rather me knock you out and cut both your ears off? or would you like to sit in a chair awake and let me do it? its that simple....

And they don't cut the throat the go all the way back to the neck bone i have videos if you would like to see.

Im not the one bashing religion here WE are the victims of religious slaughter getting pushed under our nose.

I bet you order currys dont you

Halal meat is a f*****g disgrace its barbaric and its blessed in Allah's name plus you have no idea if you are eating it eg when eating out ect no need in it,its every were and the thing is they dont even have to actually eat halal, its imposed on school dinners KFC Dominos pizzas ect i never order food or buy that shit.

The main reason for me is ive see the videos and they dont slice the throat of the animal the cut there f*****g heads off all most.

i try educate people i know but there that thick they just dont get it

Boycott it!!!

its pity people don't boycott all the paki jew, restaurants , let just feckin Allah eat in there

Its not just ethnic restaurants you need to worry about unfortunately, you could eat in an english restaurant and theres still a chance youre eating halal.

The biggest issue is cruelty but theres also the fact that you have to be muslim to work in a halal slaughterhouse so it could push non muslims out of the meat industry.

Hence why they don't serve beef dishes ... Oh and most Thais are Buddhist so shouldn't kill anything .......
