out today some new land caught a few but a few young about need to go back soon as there is a banking full of holes which are deep caught a few today but missed some as was on own and only took 30 nets

You usually get the offer of new permission as the farmer see's a load of young rabbits running about and your ready to pack up for the season i often wonder why didn't the rabbits bother them before ?.

Agree there THE ONE most of my permission I got at the back end of the season done my fair share of out of season ferreting ? hard going some times?

agree put a card through the farmers door in august and not heard a thing and got a ring as she is friends with another farmer i do the rabbits for

its word of mouth for farmers too many idiots about

Your not wrong, from now until August is the best time to ask around and gain new land. Also if you drive a lot you will find well populated areas by watching road kill hot spots during the breeding months, acquired a nice new hill for next season after noticing.

Yes as said we get more calls in the spring and early summer to control rabbits but as we don't do it for a living we put the ferreting off till late august and have a pop at a few with the rimfire to keep the new permissions happy till the ferreting season starts
