A Mornings Ratting

Recommended Posts

I had organised a days ratting for the small lurchers the two borders and the old whippet, this was a bank that they had dug into at the back of a factory were there is a supply of food shall we say 24/7 so this place looks like it will be a regular job. turned up in the morning and started to board out the fences so as to stop as many as possible from running through first warren produced 11 rats 4 escaped through holes in the wire that was built around stone work i knew this would be a problem on that corner but the dogs got 7 so not to bad and next time we will adapt something else for that corner. The next warren produced about 8 only 1 got away the rest despatched so the numbers were steadily climbing off to the next warren that produced 6 were the action was thick and fast the old lurcher had a few here aswell and picked up a couple of nips and then moving steadily on to the next three warrens picking up a few more the final tally was 27 a few bodies unaccounted for

but a good mornings ratting some pics here anyway.

yep millet i know you like a bit of ratting yourself, that corner was a bit of a mare but next time we will board it out better as we know were they are bolting to so should be interesting nearly the end of the season so let them build up numbers for a bit and just do a bit of airgun work round the factory it wont take long for them to move back in because of the plentiful food supply.
