Hot Meat 3,109
Meat mate if you can afford it, can get pet food meat cheap if you know somewhere local. I'd personally get a load a lamb and beef and use that mostly with chicken rabbit and anything else you can get added for variety.. Brown bread brown rice and brown pasta is good aswell when mixed with meat. But be real and feed what you will intend on feeding when dogs back to itself, but just feed more till then. If your gonna feed biscuits an no meat try and get good biscuits mate, it will make a difference to the cheap shit, especially if you feed little or no meat. Roughly where are you then you'll find out where yo get meat?? Atb with the dog
BROCK DOG 126
I no places to get meat mate there a place just down the road just wanted other peoples oppinion ive always fed my dogs meat tripe just you hear alot about gain 28 on here was wondering what that was like thanks for the reply appreciate it
Hot Meat 3,109
Stick to the meat mate even mix it with gain or biscuits instead of bread pasta or anythin else, I'd personally stay away from tripe atleast until the pup gets back to fill health, iv always found beef or lamb to be best for getting a bit if timber on a young dog, but everybody does things diffrent. Can then add things like goats milk and fish to give the dog treats

skycat 6,174
Whatever you feed you need to make sure the pup is getting mainly meat and bone, not cereals. If you look on the ingredients on a bag of dog food the first ingredient listed is the one there is most of: so, for example, it may say 'wheat, chicken meal etc etc'. This means that the food is only fit for rabbits, not dogs which need a lot of good quality protein to grow properly. If you are not sure how and what to feed in terms of raw meat, tripe and bone, then get yourself a good quality dog food such as Iams or Purina Proplan for puppies, which is meat based, not just mainly cereals like wheat and rice. If you want to feed raw then you need to make sure that the pup gets red meat as well as tripe and stuff like chicken carcases and lamb breast (ribs). Feeding raw is dead easy once you know what the different nutrients do. In other words: red muscle meat = protein, needed for growth. Bones = calcium and other minerals and also fat from the marrow, also needed for growth, especially calcium for good bone growth. I've sent you a pm.

beast 1,884
i feed raw meat/bones/fish/few eggs , basically an animal-product-based diet. the only thing i have found with new pups is that if they have not been fed on this diet already then it can cause stomach upsets until they are used to it, so gradually introduce cooked meat instead of dry feed, then cook the meat less each day until the stomach can cope. if the pup is otherwise healthy (just thin) it should fill out pretty quickly. make sure it gets regular but not too intense exercise. make sure the pup has been wormed too. good luck with it.
