Looking For Used Hw77, Hw80 Or Hw97

Recommended Posts

Guy guys,

I know it sounds really unrealistic but there are people out there that have old bad condition hw's that could do with the money :) I bought a hw35 the other week and although it needed work I couldn't complain for 35 quid :) this is a pic of it now after extensive work and it still isn't finished, it's getting sent away next week to get the barrel shortened, re crowned and unf threaded so it will accept a weihrauch silencer :)

You've tempted me with your other topics. It's something I'd really love to get in to.

All the very best with your restoration Nathan!!

Thanks for the interest guys, I have a few more things I want doing. It's getting sent off next week to have the barrel shortened by 6inches, re crowned and threaded to accept a silencer :) I am also in the process of making a hamster for it :) I will keep you guys posted on progress. Thanks again and ATB Nathan

Oryt mate,

I have worked relentlessly on it for a couple of weeks here is what I have done up until now;

1- full strip down and total degrease

2- deburred the entire thing (using needle files)

3- piston/cylinder polishing

4- buttoned the Piston with delrin Bands

5- converted the piston seal from leather to ptfe and a full re-grease (bisley moly)

6- removed all of the rust, pitting and bluing

7- reblued the metal work (hot)

8- straightened the barrel

9- repaired the stock (this took ages)

10- re-stained the stock (dark oak)

11- had it French polished

And that it until now :) like I say though I have more work that needs doing including;

1- barrel shortened by 6", re- crowning and 1/2" unf threaded so it will accept a silencer

2- hardware needs replacing (trigger guard, safety)

3- adjustable recoil pad fitting

Itl be worth it in the end though :)
