archiekale 427 Posted March 7, 2014 Report Share Posted March 7, 2014 (edited) got some new permission this season off a farmer wrong time of year really young ones everywhere but we have got to show willing take the bad days with the good days (early season) or lamping off the quad .well me and peter got there this morning on a new fields absolutely peeing it down after 10 mins loaded all the gear on to the quad and headed in the direction of a long edge (dreaded blackthorn ) we accounted for 9 large rabbits not a ounce of fat around the kidneys ,really hard work we would have been better off taking the shotguns and just standing back not a good start rabbits tucked up under the roots hard digging and (time consuming )we then moved on to a field called the moat the field itself is a large pasture we used the long nets on these large warrens and ended up with 28 large rabbits and 1/2 dozen young ones which are now ferret food in the freezer we have called it a day for this season so will be looking forward to some pigeon shooting and lamping off the quad Edited March 7, 2014 by archiekale 1 Quote Link to post
