Pellet Setting?

Recommended Posts

Good evening guys,

I was wondering whether or not any of you fellow shooters have ever "set" their pellets and if so did it make a difference. I was also wondering how to make one. Any advice will b useful.

Cheers, Nathan

A piece of plastic rod or you can now buy pre made pellet setters ..the lat thing you want is to damage the steel ....although personally I have never bothered ....on a springer the air will seat the pellet properly and drive the skirt out . You can argue this and that but for generations of UK airgunners its just been the use of a thumb thats all .

I know competion shooters who used to use a ball bearing to seat their pellets . Pushed into the breech with a 5mm ball bearing ensured all pellets were seated in exactly the same depth for every shot . Just a process of elimination i guess , many differeing things to consider if u want each shot to be the same as the last ;)
