Grey Squirrel Count

Was on pidgeon watch forums a while back and there was a count of how many squirrels members have acounted for since the begining of the year.

 

So.........I thought it would be a good idea to start the hunting life grey squirrel count So to start it of ive had 30 this yar in my wood. Some trapped, some shot!!

But theres plenty plenty to come as yet

so far this year i should imagine i have had a good 50,60 ,could be more,i am out al day this sunday on them and will get a few photos,had 7 last friday when sorting some crows out,squirrels going in his feed barns,drey poking all day this sunday on a large wood ,pic of last friday

always get some good interesting reponses when i put pics of the pet squirrel,and yes i do trap and control alot of them each year,most days of squirrel control for me i have anything from 5 to 12 squirrels,and you will be suprised how handy this squirrel has been for using to my advantage when putting live catch traps out,i use scent from this squirrel i have and sprinkle his old bedding in live catch traps,works better than sweetcorn,peanut butter

I've had over ten(stop counting at ten) off thirty x forty yards of allotment/garden...there is still one to get as i spotted it the other day when i caught it's mate

When i get one i normall have one the morning after that one then so on untill about three in three days.

good going mate,there seems to be loads this year,the amount we seeing and having so far and yet we still see more when we go to the farms,problem is we rely on my pack to mark any trees and it is hard to spot the squirrels due to the amount of cover still,not done so well with the traps so far but will be putting some out soon,keep at them mate

Got 93 at home and just taken a pic (the rest went to the staff who grabbed a few each day for the table).

 

I can't put the pic on at home because I don't have the facility (or the Camera) all that stuff is my brothers so I've got to get over to him, hopefully today or tomorrow.
