Yes mate I know about battles black. I just wanted to know if know one has used or uses the product "odour kill" cheers

Whilst good kennel cleanliness in essential, I'd be using a product with a name like Odour Kill very sparingly....

 

I honestly believe that strong cleaning and disinfectant products are sometimes very overused in kennels and it can't be good for the dogs to be in constant contact.

i can get as much odour kill as i want for free from the farms i work on, but i wouldn't use it for my dogs, even though i got if for nowt, its to strong in my opinion, its that strong it masks other bad smells that how it works, its industrial strength and super concentrated, its as strong as anything to us, and remember a dogs sense of smell is 1000 to 10,000 times better than ours depending on breed of dog,,,,,,, so be careful,

I know what your saying about the strong smell but it's got to be better that jeyes fluid and battles black as it's non toxic

Think that all me and Cocker are trying to say is, that it is industrial super strength stuff and should be used as such, so if I was gonna use it i'd dilute the feck out of it.

I've been to many a kennel where, thinking its what you 'should' do, lads disinfect the feck out of 'em with all sorts of strong products, when in reality, if the floors good and any mess is cleaned and hosed as soon as possible then the strong stuff is not needed, maybe for a big clean down every few months but thats it.

Bleach is another product that I've seen much over used, lads pouring it neat all over the kennel before scrubbing in and hosing down, with bubbles of it still left thick in corners and against the verticals. I work in a swimming pool and the amount of bleach needed to operate a spa pool, in constant use safely, over a day, is minimal. A damn sight less than I've seen splashed over kennels and left and if that smaller amount can work at 'break point chlorination' with over one hundred filthy feckers stewing at over 30 degrees then its serious overload for dogs..!!

Nah, shovel and hose daily and when your going to use a product, use it sparingly....!

if you have a decent drainage system in place a good hosing down with water should do if and when required its done asap I would only use the industrial stuff in the runs thats going to be empty for a while or your unlucky and get parvo/distemper in your yard ive seen some dogs stink to high heaven because they are not rubbed down after a night out or aren't dried properly they just dry there head and back /sides and leave the underside or it doesn't get done properly and the dogs bed gets damp then drys and in no time starts to smell but still doesn't get change enough because it feels dry when checked
