Down With Big Philp K Few Of His Coursing Dogs

Recommended Posts

That's true Bm I said that earlier a dog needs ability not just speed or stay. I ask a Q to everyone on the site from ire. How many us have had a dog on a run say run going about 3 mins the hare pulls on the dog the gap opens up about 200 yrds the hare goes through a hedge dog through 30 seconds later none us knows what happened behind that hedge. And that hedge saved that dog cause time dog went through the hare gone. So dog has to stop as hare gone. Now in eng on a fen same run the hare pulls after 3 mins goes out into middle off the fen there's no hedge to save that dog it either shows good heart or it stops so at least you got to see what ur dog got in the tank. I for one have had dogs do that in ire but I know I wudnt brg them to eng as I know what gona happen.

thats true but every dog has his limit be it 1 min or 6 mins all any dog can do is try his best, if you bring a dog to the fens and it runs out of wind after 3 mins and cant run no more and stops is that jacking?? all you can ask for and all you should expect is the dog to try his best

I agree with both off you .As john said we run in Leeland can make up excuses for a dog but in England there's no have ding place either the dog kills or gets straight lined.Look at Irish lady in the forley cup.

ya but thats not the debate, the q is if ireland is a worthy test of a dog or not?? and in my view its a very good test and a very diffrent test to england would you agree iceman??

BM your right there some people would call it jacking l myself put it down too the better animal won THE HARE .Speedie Ned dog is the perfect simple.

i rate owen dog ned a very good dog with a heart like a lion but he found himself in a situation where he had notting left to give plain and simple like i said before all dogs have there limit, it dosent make them bad dogs

Always said you can't compare both.Every land and every hare is different. Your dog will get tested in lreland in a different way it would get tested in england.Takes a good dog to run all types off land but as you said your dog suits you and where you run.Am sure there's dogs in england that have only seen the fen.If they come over here they be in trouble but am sure there's dog that would do it no prop.

the original debate was that dogs in ireland that never ran in england are not fully tested, and gorger said a dog have to be able to run both countrys to be fully tested so like i said there has been heaps of good english dogs that never ran in ireland so they not fully tested in that case... i personnally dont agree with this but this is whats been said

You need everythg in eng as the rabs are rockets. Your dog need the lot or it end up in tears. I've the run both jim trust me I'm hunting down south 25 years I've been every part ire dublin holds best hares some places hold brillant ones espicially on seed land. On grass different hare. In eng all seed there's no hedges slow hares down. 1 run over there like 3 runs here to most men in a day. Some days in ire you don't get any runs every honest man admit that. Coveny fen in eng I don't think any dog could run that place twice a week and last full season there robots lol.

thats a fair point, but lets say you have a dog thats fast and good stayer and can run great in england theres no guarantee that the same dog be good in ireland as i say when hes getting cuts and knocks almost everytime hes out he might soon get sick of it, plus iv seen dogs run fine in open ground but when the hare go in rushey field the dog would need glasses, so its a diffrent test to england, you yourself said last nite that you know there good if they can run both countrys
I hunted ardee a few season, s ago with 2 lad, s who hunted eng every 3 week I was shiting myself my old mut aganist these 2 great english bred dog, s and listening about how many they kilt over there nevver missed.they got 3 runs each and stoped at the wire an headge on every 1 of them I was lucky I never got a slip allday.lol

What he's saying is your dog will get tested here if you are getting the runs.In england on a day out your dog get 4 good runs your not going get that here week in week out.Which is true.Seen plenty men go down and not get a run.We have plenty off hares up north few spots we hunt hold 30_50 hares no prop but its shit land and shit hares when out in the open That's why 99% hit the south better running better test.Hunting Ardee Oldcastle Kingcourt places like that but during the season we heading in around Dublin and got my eyes opened
