Hawke sidewinder 30 ir tactical.

Before I decided to buy one I would like your honest opinions on there's scope for hunting.

Clarity of glass etc

just been out first time with mine mate. only got it yesterday but im in love with it! very clear glass, even when shooting in low light and dark, with the ret illuminated its still got perfectly clear picture. unlike my panorama that I couldn't see feck all through when it was dark an the ret was illuminated, even on its lowest setting

 

basically mate I would recommend one. do it. YOLO. cant take it with you when you die NO regrets

I had one, well actually I had several as I keep having to send them back. Loved the reticle, Hated everything else. Couldn't get it set up right, wasn't clear at all, couldn't get a decent veiw through any of the ones I had. Felt cheap, build quality was poor. Eventually I got a refund rather than a swap and bought a MTC Viper. Never looked back, it's fab.

I know a lot of folks rate Hawkes but personally I wouldn't have one given.

 

They look good on specs. and have decent lenses for the price but the build quality is shit.

I've got two Hawke scopes and they're great.

 

My Nite-Eye Digi sits on the HMR and is clear enough to see the furthest targets that I shoot at 200 yards:

When fitted to something with next to no recoil they're ok. Like I said, lots of features and decent glass. Stick them on something with a bit more kick though and they do have a habbit of falling to bits and Deben's after sale service is (in my experience) shit.
