I think you should all answer as if it were your child?

Not the bad kids you see hanging around the streets you don't give a feck about,,, but your 10 year old ?

It's easy when you don't have kids to say feck em,,,, and remember there not secondary school kids,,, but junier school

Is she doing it to disruptive kids or every kid? If it helps stop the destructive ones and my kid was one of them, they'd have more to worry about than Sellotape mate.
Read the link,,, and you will know,,,;)

Oh you've actually read your own link this time lol

The kids run the schools these days, the lunatics are running the asylum, time out were kids are allowed to leave lessons when they choose, to calm down, anger issue management and counselling, its a total joke. The school actually reported me to the social and the police after I was dealing with a situation that they asked me to deal with. They asked me to sort out my boys attitude because he was intimidating his geography teacher, so he comes home, I grab him by his coat told him its not nice to scare people and left it there. He goes to school, tells them that "he lost it" and the police and the social are waiting for me at my lunch break at 17:00. I asked the social worker, "how can I stop my 14 year old son from telling his mum to f**k off". She looked blank then said to my boy, that's not a nice thing to do. FFS these people need to wake up and smell a very strong cup of coffee. They are ruining society in general and kids lives in particular, kids need clear and defined boundaries with feared and understood consequences................its just so bloody obvious.

Must admit if it was one of my kids i would go ape shite at the bitch she is wrong. The whole problem stems from a total lack of disapline in all walks of life but imo schools should be able to disapline kids, never done me any harm cane, ruler, slipper, chalk rubber, you name it we got it and if the old man found out i got it again when i got home.

I would say 80% of it is how they are brought up, parents should be held more responsible for their childrens actions.Half the problem is these kids know there is no punishment to speak of so there not botherd/scared etc its the same with criminals they aint gonna hang or slop out for 30 years so they aint really botherd.

Anyone remember getting dragged down the corridor by that little bit of hair (by your sideburns) man i used to fecking hate that, teacher was 6ft plus, i was 4ft nothing and 7stone shit i can still feel it now lol

Right or wrong it was unnecessary. Kids can be disciplined at schools without having to resort to cello-tape. Just chuck the lot of them in after school detention for a week and see how keen they are to bugger about after their parents have bollocked the life out of them for having to pick them up from school late every night.

Discipline mechanisms are in place already............. teachers are just too soft to actually enforce them with zero tolerance.

The thing is BH. . . . the sanctions aren't really sanctions. It's just things like being on report, or being sent home. . . . if the parents don't really punish that, it just means diddly squat.

I'm not saying that she should have taped their mouths up, but at the end of the day it was a wee bit of tape. . . . it was no big deal, and its been made out like she battered shit into them.

There is FAR worse emotional and verbal abuse that occurs that goes unreported or challenged all of the time.

What about isolating them, banning them from house sports events, teams and school skiing trips etc, lunch time and after school detentions where they have to be picked up by their parents inconveniencing their parents. If all else fails, expel them and put their parents through the aggro of finding another school. If they repeatedly get expelled the parents clearly aren't fit to be parents and social workers need to get involved.

You're possibly better placed to comment on this than me? Do you think mainstream teachers could be tougher? Do they let small discipline incidents slip for an easy life? Are they too friendly with pupils these days? The teachers we never pissed about were the ones that absolutely were NOT our friends, LOL. There needs to be a line of respect, it's all laughs and fun untill you piss about and the teacher snaps then everybody gets their head down out of respect or possibly fear. At that point ANY minor indiscretion was jumped on.

You accept that happening to your kids. What you think your kid would do if another teacher tried to abuse them, say nowt that's what if guess, I want my kids to hav a better life than me, an if that means no teacher wil degrade belittle or bully them so be it. Another question? Would you accept your kids putting Sellotape over a younger siblings mouth or even a dogs mouth to keep it quiet)???? I know I wouldn't, so why let some jumped up teacher do it to your pride and joy???

This reminds me of when we were kids , the P.E teacher gave my brother a dead arm , so our kid tells my old fella ,"what were you doing ?" asks the old man "just messing about " says the bold James , "o,k take this letter in and give it to the teacher "

Next morning our kid swaggers into school and toss,s the letter on the P.E teachers desk , "off me dad "he snarled , teacher opens the letter

Dear sir ,

If he messes about again ,you have my permission to give him a good hiding .
