The one 8,487
Rake about is very cagey about his ferrets though he doesn't boast or post much about his eu poleys , micro's or bews unless its talking about showing them Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Aye, Rake Aboot is your man. . . . he's bang into those E.U's. Always ranting and raving about how much unlike the average ferret they are. 1 Quote Link to post

It's always nice taking wild animals from their natural environment so you can feel like 'the man' because you own it. . . . . 5 Quote Link to post
vanman1 411
I must admit after 30years of ferreting i had never used/seen a eu polecat, however an aquantence of mine aquired a male last year and ive worked him this year and to be honest i was very impressed,he was thorough, fast, and would work all day a little feisty for my likeing but nothing that couldnt be sorted with time.So much so iam thinking of mateing with him this season.Has anyone got any experience when these are crossed to normal polcat/albino ferrets etc i think with the right jill he could throw some lovely kits! Nick3439 83
I'm pretty sure a well bred ferret would be better than an F1 Polecat/Ferret... More handleable and more trusting and just as effective 1 Quote Link to post
krawnden 1,036
Black,,eyed,,white,= bew Cheers Tomo. Vanman, I used to have a couple of one-eighth polecat hobs that I was very pleased with. They were sired by a 3/4 ferret 1/4 polecat of my mates, put over one of my jill ferrets. My mate never really used the sire much (that I saw anyhow) but was always saying what a good worker he was. That hob was bred by a friend of his, who I never met, using a half cross hob that was, by all accounts, the dog's b**locks. Supposedly very fast and efficient. The one-eighth hobs I had were both good, one of which was outstanding, probably the best ferret I've ever had. Unfortunately I'd had the pair of them castrated when young, otherwise I would definitely have bred from the better of the two. Quote Link to post
