Bosun11 537
In the main threds like this are usually answered by people age 25+ and most think that the dearer a puppy the better its gonna get looked after... Complete tosh.... Thousands of kids out there with money to burn, easy come, easy go money. Money most folks on here wouldn't believe, they can pay whatever the asking price is and then get shut most weeks, when the next better and more expensive thing comes along. Usually sold to his rag arse mate, who ain't got as much dough as the first but wants to be all gangster like his mate and then he'll do the same thing again and so on and so forth. Within half a season, the dogs had about six owners and is in RSPCA kennels.... Its the way of the world now.... Me, I still dream of a a world of Exchange & Mart prices.... Quote Link to post
nothernlite 18,076
Cant understand wheres the logic in putting the prices up Quote Link to post
wuyang 513
Cheaper the better if I'm buying one.. I haven't got money to burn. The price people are willing to pay for a dog has no relationship to the quality of life they offer to it. 3 Quote Link to post
DeerhoundLurcherMan 997
If the price for lurcher pups went up every f**ker would be breeding them to earn a few quid. Better off giving them away to trusted lads. If there was no money involved the vast majority of people wouldn't bother breeding...Then theoretically only the best would be bred from, to be worth the hassle... forest 137
I think a lot of people want to much £ for pups you just have to look in country mans weekly each week to see what I mean most people I know only sell a handful of pups to cover costs of rearing the pups the majority of them are given away to good dog lads and the ones that do get sold are no more than 100£ that's because they are not in it for money just the love of the sport personally I wood stay wel away from any pups with that sort of price tag Quote Link to post
roybo 2,873
100% right bosun, I know the sort you are talking about...a lot of young lads can get cash, cars, dogs etc just few bags of powder for to them to sell job done Quote Link to post
swede40 92
There's nobody worse than the coursing lad's for putting huge prices on running dog's for pup's and older animals Quote Link to post
obi2 239
,plenty of pedigree staffs that cost £300-500 plus in shelters Good point Quote Link to post
roybo 2,873
That's right mate ,I think there's also greyhounds worth £1,000s as pups, but that's another story so price alone won't help Quote Link to post
fox digger 1,086
There's nobody worse than the coursing lad's for putting huge prices on running dog's for pup's and older animals ive only just had a conversation about this with a pal, the only thing i can say about coursing pup prices is the history and breeding is all tracable and everyone in the game can verify the line history of the pups for sale, the dogs have a massive amount of time and effort put into them and are really tested, there is a possibility that the pups could be matched and in turn generate a few quid. where as a lurcher from joe soap, supposed to be this that or the other, only seen working by the owner who is funnily the owner of the pups for sale, they cant justify big prices........ handy money and a pup may be chanced, buying from known producers with track records and trace-ability will cost, however when it starts going into thousands then i think it starts to get out of hand!! 3 Quote Link to post
