welcome 447
I will take what ever slip is in front of me in fact the lads I get out with just shake their heads, if its in the same county as me it gets slipped on. Then its down to the dog to get on it or not as the case might be. As for reading how to run game, when to go through the gears and when to box or to pressure a good saluki can give master classes in it. So maybe the ones that have being brought to ireland are the wrong ones because it dont seem to be working out .As for slipping a dog im not very good at it because if my dog can see it i let go or i have being known to lift the dog up to show him the hare in the next field or the in the next county if i could and let him off Quote Link to post

welcome 447
In my opinion its all Down to using the right saluki blood if there was more time put into bettering the pure breds then we would benefit a lot more in are lurchers ,good working strain salukis seem to be hard to come by It depends what in fashion at the time big e over 25 years im looking at the new breeds that are the best that can be got ,In fact i have had a lot of them but for some reason i couldent see what was so special about them.
