Huan72 687
I try to keep my dog away from strangers for my dogs welfare My lad is 15 now and when he was a little younger he had a mate round in his bedroom. I have ears like a bat and I heard his mate tell my lad to "kick your dog in the head". I called them down, told his mate that if someone kicks my dog in the head, I kick them in the head and told him to get out my house.

morton 5,368
If im out and about with the mutts and people approach, especially with dogs and kids,i put the mutts on leads and attempt to walk opposite to them,im in Asian country and the majority of kids are petrified, the responsibility of owning a dog is being responsive to others, especially kids.
Bosun11 537
Since I've moved out of the city, i've noticed more folk afraid of dogs and its made me keener than ever to walk the opposite way from folk out for a walk without a dog of their own and I've come to realise that by my own mistakes...! Huan72 687
The problem these days is that common sense has gone out the window. I actually know someone who the other day told me that her 18 month old son wandered over to a strangers dog who she thought he was going to stroke and the kid actually bit the dog I said what did the dog do and she said, " its ok he had a muzzle on" And this woman seems normal, nowhere near the "Kyle brigade". The mind truly boggles. I told her that she needs to sort the biting out, but she says that she cant tell the kid off as he don't know what he is doing I told her that her kid had a real lucky escape but that luck runs out

talt 878
I dont like german shepherds after i got chased by one when i was trying to take a short cut home from school. Moving on a few years, i was working on a council estate doing refurbs on the houses and the tenants were moved into mobile homes. Anyway, one time i was absolutely busting for a shite, and the nearest toilet was an outhouse in a yard. I rushed over and opened the door and there was a fecking great big shepherd dog staring back at me, who then lunged towards me growling and snarling. I managed to trap his head in the door and held it long enough for it to decide to pull back in and i got the door latched again. Long story short, i no longer needed the toilet but i had to go home and change my trousers.

My young dog only 1/2 gsd he soft as shit lol, think he picked the greys temp, unless he changes as he gets older , but to be honest he to big+powerful if he was nasty, you end up in shit street
bunnys 1,228
Strange but that type of fear can sometimes induce a lesser trained dog into an attack, people who show that type of fear do seem to get bitten more often. Very true, especially if they run away. My friends daughter was bitten by a nasty ill tempered Bedlington (that the owner her close relitive still kept) it was only provoked by her going near ITS SOFA. I have tried many times to get her to near the Lab which is the best natured and safest dog I have ever owned, she will only look out the window at him though every time she comes over she says she will and talks endlessly about doing it. I think we as dog owners have more to answer for in not destroying suspect stock than the parents for passing on their nerves and fears to the kids. I don't give any dog I own or handle the chance to approach strangers, they get called in and put on a lead true that , I suppose because I know my dogs are wimps lol , I prob am bit relaxed with them , but as said I did put Buck on the lead, as been said he would make grown man think twice to come towards me never mind a child. And if wanted to play with anybody like he does most times , and run at them + jump around them, I would be fecked if they took it to the police with all this dog attack things going on of late. I will deff keep me eyes out more for people in future , but like been said the child deff picked this fear up from her parents, and its a real shame not all dogs are nasty, more so like daft old Bryn tend not to exercise jaz where there be walkers etc ,EVEN though she his very well trained and halts on comand on game and man,the confrontations that can sometimes be got i would rarther avoid .atb bunnys. Nik_B 3,790
It's funny, my lab doesn't like friendly people who try to stroke him. If some one comes up to him he will try to get away from them....however.....the people that don't like dogs i.e. try to give him a wide birth well that's different he will generally rush up to them and try to stick his nose up their arses....it can be embarrassing and I don't normally let him do it unless they are of that particular religious persuasion
