YOKEL 2,277
Cats and hay fever, some yrs worse than others, hay fever that is. As for food allegies, these seem a fairly new invention. they were unheard of when i was a kid. sure it's the shit people eat nowadays that's caused it, or people not eating enough shit? who knows, but it seems every fuckers allergic to gluten/wheat/peanuts blah blah blah nowadays... Ideation 8,216
Yokel - I think there is a lot of truth in what you say. . . . a lot of the allergies etc have to be put down to the foods that we have eaten as a society in the last 20 years or so, and also to the massive use of antibiotics. However, I think a lot of these things existed before, but just weren't diagnosed. IBS for example has been around for a long long time, but I think that it has just been used as a catch all term for certain food allergies. But you are right - we eat a lot of shit. When you cut it out, you realise how many things contain wheat that don't need to! Same with other stuff.

It's still with me but now only if I touch my face after touching a dog and if I rub my eyes.. Oh lordy, all hell breaks loose..!!
gnipper 6,508
the wife is allergic to oranges. even being in the same room as someone peeling onsets off a major attack What are her symptoms mate? I can eat oranges but when someone peels one near me the smell knocks me sick and the lads at work think it's really funny when we're stuck in the landy and stick the peel in my bag or hood or something. dare 1,103
Recently just been diagnosed with celiacs. To be honest it's probably done me good. Have been living on Iceland pizzas and other junk. Since have just got myself gluten free oatmeal for breakfast and making the most of my mum being a butcher and veg. Feel alot better for it although it'll be hard not to want a cold beer after work once the weathers better.

Ideation 8,216
Dare - You are right, it makes you more healthy in general I think. You reckon it could have out to do with eating too much in your diet before? You always suffered or it just came on recently. Also they do make Gluten Free lager and ale, its just expensive. Now and then I'd feel bloat but I didnt even have a clue what celiac diisease was. Cousin found out they had it over in Melbourne and called up saying its genetic. Soon as I heard the signs I half thought I've got it. My diet was really poor though and defiantly done me good to have to change. Since cutting out gluten though if I have even a small amount now it seems to effect me worse than ever before. I'd drink a few beers happily other night I thought sod it i fancy a few pints and meet a mate. Couldn't even finish 2 pints without feeling bloat where as before I'd of knocked em back all night. Since Ive had to change my diet I thought may aswell get down the gym. Been before but never took the dieting too serious to be honest. Already can notice results and feel good for it. Wouldn't dare go back to eating processed crap.
