Brigzy 1,298
With tools, I try to buy the very best I can afford. Buying cheap stuff, just 'cause you don't use them very often, is false economy. They fall to bits or slip and you end up with skinned and bruised knuckles, and you then have to buy something better if you want to get the job done. You wouldn't buy a shit lamp and battery just 'cause you only lamp once a week, would you ?
spade 224
It's up to you where you spend your money but Draper = anti.
jessdale 416
Teng is over priced and the plating does not last. Check out the gear wrench stuff. Similar spec as snap on with out the price tag. Bahco isn't bad gear neither. Bahco is snap-on. They are the same company.
neil82 1,080
full time on the spanners so most of my gear is snap on, not sure is it is the best but the back up and warranty is second to none, buy a draper expert or Halfords pro kit as most of that is very ok for most diy work, the ratchet may give grief so buy a kit for back up or join the club and spend £70- on a snap on one and the first time it slips they will replace all the internals FOC, the only thing they do not cover is the main body, when that's stuffed you need a new one but wearing that out will take some doing, if you ever see one at a car boot grab it as you don`t need a receipt for most reps to carry out repairs, I had some old (Canadian snap on) sockets replaced as the plating had failed, at the time they were reckoned to be over 50 years old
