Last Day Of The Season For Us

Got a call last night from the huntsman that he was just taking out a few of the younger hounds to give them a go to see how they do a mix of welshhound and old English foxhound and a few of the experienced hounds they went into the first cover and nothing really out of it going around in circles so we got them out and moved on to only a small cover and we saw the fox heading out and they got straight onto him and hunted him for a good few fields and he was marked to ground in a nice four holer so I entered my dog took him about 3/4 minutes and he met his opponent it was and easy 1 metre dig he was a little hard today for some reason but fox was dispatched ...we then moved on to another cover and they took a while to get something out of it and we saw the fox heading out and one of the young welshhounds was onto him and soon they all were hunted him up a valley and he was marked to ground and the young patterdale bitch was entered she found him fast and was baying another very easy dig of less than a metre. And fox dispatched so all home and dogs loaded back up he was very happy with the hounds and terriers did well so that's us done till next season

Great to hear the dogs going well nothing better than a good hunt ,season seems to go faster every year!

Call out time now the season never really seems to end with keepers farmers and landowners not wanting to give an inch and loose money

I doubt we'll do much digging over the summer good bit of ratting though
