ChrisJones 7,975
There's alot of stuff around that's upto the job, Moll, but you won't get fuel economy and a great towing vehicle. The two don't mix. A saloon car will tow and give economy but it won't swim! Just look at what you're going to use it for the most. If you want something powerful that can stand getting a bit wet then look at a diesel. Getting the electrics wet in the middle of a fast flowing stream isn't funny even when you have got something to get yourself out. Takes ages to hand winch a Land Rover. You can buy rough Discovery for around a grand. It'll tow and you won't have to worry about the dogs on the upholstery! Like everything else, if you're willing to spend more money you'll get a better vehicle.
J Darcy 5,871
I had a L200 mitsu and thought it was a great wagon....not too bad on fuel and loads of room for dogs. and despite off roading every weekend for two seasons it never once got stuck, even in some pretty bad conditions.... i would recommend one to anybody.... Guest Corkonian
L200's are very small in the cab - my legs don't fit at all nice jeep otherwise though. I put veg oil in the Pajero for the first time at the weekend - no mods done to it so just ran it at around 25% veg - ran perfectly - smelt nice too It was definately a second or two slower to start in the morning - with such a low % veg and the temp being about 15 celcius that's a bit of a worrier for the winter?! Supermarket here has veg oil for 60 cents - that's nearly half the price of diesel.
Guest chilli
talkin to my mate about the oil situation at the weekend he was sayin if you were to to the set up properly you warm the oil up before it goes in to help out as the glow plugs struggle to get it to the correct temp to do there job properly i imagine when winter sets in there could be a bit of a prob to start ? ? havin said that he has run them on oil for a good while now an had no probs , i allways get hungry thought when iam in the van though
Guest Dillon
I bought this greedy b*****d 2 weeks ago, cracking tool but about 9 to the gallon and over £100 to fill up its not the most economical. Gonna try it out for the dogging in winter so we will see how it shapes.
Guest A Sick Old Man
You could have a look at these http://www.umm-france.com/htfr/0001.htm They are a bit odd, but my uncle who is a farrier uses an UMM estate as his forge and swears by them, good on Diesel and uses a big Peugot motor I think. HE Hates Land Rovers :realmad: :realmad: So I would take careful advice before touching them, better a Toyota than anything.

IanB 0
Fine and vehicle compounded, you have to pay the fee for the vehicle depending on how long its compounded...
