i dont want an all singing all dancing 4X4 just one which will go into normal flat feilds and through streams.

I cant afford a new one so older models......what is the best for fuel economay as it will also have to be my only vehicle for everything else.

I hear good things about the Daihatsu Fourtrak for what you're after - I wouldn't say no to one myself. Under a grand if you look around. 2.8 V6 engine tho so I don't know about fuel economy.

 

I run my Pug 405 estate on biodiesel (the "veggie oil mix"), but 43p a litre?! That's not much over cost price if you count the 27.1p per litre fuel tax (that is paid in the price, right?)...

 

I'm paying 80p a litre for biodiesel at the mo, tho I'm about to set up as a producer/retailer in the coming months. If you can tell me where to buy the stuff at 43p a litre I'm there!

 

Is it transesterified RME (rape methyl ester) or a waste veggie oil modified with solvents?

use keraseen, heating oil but u add about 1/2 littre cheap engin oil to 20 littre of keraseen , last time i bought some it was about 25p a littre, dont know what it is at the mo

sorry to get you all worked up on price, 43 p is svo or vegetable oil as the people who cook with it call it, off the shelf in tescos, in 3 litre cans or 20ltr cans from costco/macro or similar. and i forgot to add the tax.... naughty naughty. you get a ex104 form off the customs and excise, then self declare how much you have used and send em a cheque. or not

I forgot to add it must be big/powerfull enough to tow a caravan, and have room in the back (with the seats out) for up to 7 dogs.
