salop sniper 32
As above really lads. What's your preferred cal if your quarry was: Wood pigeon Feral pigeon Rabbit Squirrel ? This is in sub 12ftlb ! Si & Davey seem to prefer the .22 in the field but what about the rest of you. ATB Matt 1 Quote Link to post
moxy 617
Hi Matt. .22 for me for both FAC and sub12. For all of the above. Quote Link to post
salop sniper 32
Cheers moxy, I haven't had .22 for a while but just bought one as a second rifle for my 30th as I've worked my nuts off for it. Regards Matt Quote Link to post
moxy 617
What's your usual preferred calibre Matt? I shoot with lads who use everything from .177 to .25 and all get on with their preferred choice. I suppose it's what you get used to. Quote Link to post
salop sniper 32
Used to .177 sub 12 but also have: FAC .22 air .17hmr .22lr Quote Link to post
GSkye 94
i've got .22 for the birds and .25 for squirrel and rabbit. just personal preference and what works best for me but happy for you to come over and check out mine if you like? Quote Link to post

logan esq 99
I've never had anything but .22. But like all have said personal preference. Same goes for your pellets too. When I got my AA I went with the logical choice AA pellets and never had a problem either in the range or in the field. Quote Link to post
Daz39 962
0.177 for all the above. Flatter and easier to shoot in the dark, plus, it does the job! 1 Quote Link to post
logan esq 99
I may have to invest in .177 just for a cheeky second rifle...... Well third. Lol Quote Link to post
whippet warrior 8
.177 for me yes its a smaller pellet ,,but the shot placement is what its all about 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,530
.22 all the way for me as well Quote Link to post
Bear1cat 4
I use .177 for two reasons. 1, the flatter trajectory is a little more forgiving if you are a few yards out on the range estimation. 2, the pellet gets to the target that little bit quicker giving it less chance of flinching out of the way. salop sniper 32
I have .177 already and fancied a second sub 12ftlb rifle for the same jobs really as the .177 (General all rounder). I already had my .177 tube PCP and was looking at a .22 spring and piston SFS rifle to mix it up a bit, but last week I spotted a .22 Daystate Air Ranger 2 years old so I've gone for that. It was a great deal and it's a bottle PCP, lovely trigger and it's running on falcon accuracy plus pellets, so I've just cleaned the barrel through and washed and lubed 500 falcons, tomorrow I will weigh them out into batches ready for zeroing and range work. It's going to be fun learning the .22 trajectory as I haven't shot a .22 in 15+ years! Then it's first quarry will be looked for (summer bunnys or pigeon over decoys) ATB Matt 1 Quote Link to post
