Born Hunter 17,820
Oh right. Just didn't realise as theirs a price difference cheers Paulus is being facetious! LOL "When looking at moderators there are two different physical layouts, firstly the conventional muzzle-mounted moderator and secondly the less conventional reflex or telescopic moderator. The muzzle-mounted moderator as its name suggests, is attached to the end of the muzzle; thus the expansion chamber and baffles are all housed off the end of the muzzle. This greatly increases the overall length of the weapon; as a result this incurs both balance and handling penalties. The reflex moderator sleeves the expansion chamber back over the barrel greatly reducing the overall length - having only the baffles in front of the muzzle, this improves balance and handling as well as offering a more secure two point attachment to the weapon." shropshire dan 467
Sound good. Wouldn't mind one for the .22lr as it has 24inch barrel and then an extra 5ish inch with mod. Will have a look at them in detail, how would I buy another mod when I have one in the slot. Would I have to get a variation for a second silencer? Thanks Atb Dan Quote Link to post
GEOFF.223 83
Oh right. Just didn't realise as theirs a price difference cheers A relfex mod partially slides over ur barrel to make ur overall length shorter but still gives u the same moderation of sound. So the answer you got earlier (none) was alot of piss Quote Link to post

d.nelson 9
You will never fully silence a .17 hmr don't forget about the sonic boom Quote Link to post
Cliff Ray 185
You can cut out the sonic boom, but it's a little impractical. It's subsonic by 300 yards, so you just need a 300 yard moderator. Make sure it's curved to match the drop of the bullet though 1 Quote Link to post

Marksman 934
Im using an A&M Proofed Twink MKII, cost is £60 and as good as any youre likely to come across Darryl Quote Link to post
Elliott 436
Im using an A&M Proofed Twink MKII, cost is £60 and as good as any youre likely to come across Darryl Wouldn't mind seeing a close up of that Darryl. If it's the reflex type A&M could be onto a real winner with that one considering the little difference between the HMR mods. Is it easy enough to strip and clean? Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
It's not a reflex type but it's only 6" in length, easy to strip & clean too. It's fitted to my CZ455 16" Varmint, both me and Wor kid shoot from a vehicle with them with no problems at all Quote Link to post
unlacedgecko 1,466
A good way to reduce overall length would be a fully moderated rifle - http://www.jmsarms.com/mae_article.php Quote Link to post
