Molie1337 35
My deerhound cross severed a tendon in her toe, I didn't really think anything of it at the time, just another cut foot, cleaned it up, let it heal and now it's pretty obvious she has no "grip" movement in that toe, when she stretches all her toes curl but that one stays pointing skyward, doesn't really bother her, other than the claw not wearing like the others it doesn't seem to effect her, just wondered if it would be slowing her down at speed or in the turn? It's her inside front left toe... Cheers Molie Quote Link to post
arcticgun 4,548
Should be treated likely stretched not snapped, trip to vet methinks, at the very least keep the nail short, if you had damaged your own tendon what would you have done? sandymere 8,263
If the tendons gone its gone and you are best placed to judge if its effecting her. I've had dogs with similar that did fine, It does weakens the foot and so greater strain on other toes so keep an eye on them. 1 Quote Link to post
Kemperz21 65
If it's not inline with the rest during movement surly it's a break waiting to happen ? When running turning or jumping just a thought Quote Link to post
swg dave 334
Molie i would get the dog to the vet mate, just an example i cut my ring finger once and i could bend all my fingers into a fist shape, but when straightening the fingers back my ring finger stayed curled into my palm i had cut through my extensor tendon, which they operated on using micro sugery, and it took quite a time to heal.If you dont get that dog looked at, its quite possible it could lead to more problems, but good luck with the old dog mate...SWG DAVE.. 2 Quote Link to post

Was middle toe on front leg. She tore tendon in her foot out lamping. Have had her out since hasn't effected her at all. Best of luck mate. Let us know how you get on Quote Link to post
