I have been swerving this thread on purpose all day for this very reason......

History shows that any thread on this forum that involves the title "Wolf, Bear, lion, water buffalo, Malmute" will in veritably within a few short posts have someone babbling complete nonsense in some form or the other......weather that be " my whippet x bull takes them" to "I would own one and cross it with a jack Russel etc etc"

Please see the above quote for proof of the pudding.......

Saluki, it would be difficult to trap a wolf that is traveling without any territory of set behaviour patterns that could be used to place the traps. It had taken a big effort to find the animal so setting traps in the hope it might bump into one whilst hoping you don't lose it and it bump into a child etc the mean time??? Its all easy in Disney land but when faced with the real world decision who would not sort it! My old man was not one to piss about and he shot it as the safest option, I would do the same today.

I am intrigued by your post. I did not think that anyone could be so stupid, and I am wrong again!

Prey do tell what "proper hunting" is?

This I have to read.

Proper hunting :hmm: By that I assume you are talking about "impressive" and dangerous animals. To me proper hunting is a mindset of respect for the quarry and being in nature, not just standing on the side lines and watching nature as she goes by. To quote again, "poxy wolf", maybe if your a good shot and are using the correct rifle etc, but that statement indicates to me a lack of respect for the quarry and I personally respect any predator that is at the top of the tree, using only the hardware that nature provides, bear, big cat, wolf, shark and so on. Our evolution took a gamble on bigger brains at the expense of teeth and claws and it paid off but lets not forget that in a life and death situation with an apex predator that relies on tech only, if it goes wrong, that "poxy" wolf is gonna teach you a real painful lesson

Live and learn but how many guns were there in case it went wrong lol

That doesn't change the fact wollyjnr was talking daft. LOL. Just thought I'd put that up there.

Always some 'backup' with these commercial dangerous game hunts. The nature of bowhunting means there's every chance that after even the perfect shot you could get mashed! Can't say it's my cup of tea......
