You ever played for Liverpool stewie?

go on then :rolleyes::D
I just love the way you think, if you've never owned a saluki, you know f**k all about them. Don't matter if you've seen them run a thousand times, if you don't feed it, you know nowt. You've never played for Liverpool but I wouldn't presume you know f**k all about there weakness, strengths, etc.....
yes as an outsider looking in i can grab hold of the basics but if i owned liverpool football club dont you think id no alot more about them than most :hmm:
No, I don't think ownership of anything makes you better qualified than everyone else. Same as the length of time you've done anything. You could hunt for 20 years and still be too dumb to read a dog. Do you think the owners of Man U know more about Man U than a diehard football fan? They might know how the business side works just like you know how much training, food etc your saluki needs to perform. But actually experience in seeing Man U perform.... They know very little.

you dont half spout some crap Baw LOL must be a quiet day at work

:laugh: aye and I'm finished yippppeeee :D I'll reply to the rest tomorrow :tongue2:

Let's just say I don't have enough experience of them to give a proper debate but the few I have seen, anything over 3/8 Sal blood is too much of a wanker for me :laugh:

I do know people who have seen some of Snoops dogs in the past and have said they were good runners I also know people who have seen Salukis run and wouldn't touch one :whistling: For me a little bit of desert blood goes a long way :yes:

id be hoping they are rated decent runners.... snoops dog has just covered a bitch of ours and i wasnt aiming to breed to a "wanker" of a dog :thumbs: if half of what i know about the line is true they are far from "wankers" and earn there crust :yes:

some saluki crosses can very highly strung .hard to train. so can alot of other crosses .a good dog man can train any dog.

some are harder then others.that is true.the biggest mistake is folk not treating saluki,s or saluki crosses like any other lurcher.

true a lot of saluki crosses you cant be heavy handed they dont respond to that kind of training .but do you have to be heavy

handed with any cross .no i personally dont think so.every dog i have trained from being a pup has been steady and fairly obedient.

some have been harder to train then others i will admit .a good sal x can be as good as any other cross with the right man behind it.

do you think the original saluki would of had training snoop??? Cant see it myself and probably why alot of people think there thick!!! They were a breed bred to hunt and run in the desert so would never of needed to do more than that?? Edited by clipo

good post ive ran cross,s and now pures each dog is different even my two pures are chalk and cheese the dogs eager and willing to learn,the bitch more stand offish and moody. i train both differently and find patience is the key,and putting them in the situation where they learn the lesson themselves,and agree with snoopdog the man behind the dogs the key,me i dont like bull crosses but thats just me,dont belive all the hype on salukis being thick either,if they cant see the point in something they wont do it,teaching them the points the knack,jmo atb mc

i would have a similar mindset on in snoop.... every dog is different and respond to different methods of training in different ways, there is a way around everything, just look at the chap on here using mink he tamed and trained to hunt (minkenry).... a saluki in a lurcher makeup will definatly bring alot to the table, as has been tried tested and perfected over the years. A slightly different minset may or may not be needed when training/working the particular lurcher but as a whole the majority are doing what they were designed to do and making there owners happy.
