I had this link emailed to me: http://www.pestmagazine.co.uk/_attachments/Resources/898_S4.pdf

I can’t make head nor tail of it. I’m not even sure what it is.

‘Proposals for SGARs Industry Stewardship’ what does the even mean?

I do, at least, know what SGARs are, and I’m guessing it’s something that’s going to be sent to Whitehall. But, surely the government will just go with whoever spends the most on lobbying? Presumably retailers & chemical companies.

Can someone please give me the heads-up on this?

The background to this is that the labels on all second generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs) are changing. They will soon say 'for use in and around buildings'. This means that no one will be able to use SGARs away from buildings or what is being termed 'use in open areas'.

This document lays out possible routes to allow the use of SGARs in 'open areas'. The route being looked is to have a Stewardship regime and this is the proposal.

Once its approved (im sure it will be) will mean it will change with IMMEDIATE EFFECT, i believe its to help aid in cases of secondary poisioning and to reduce the amount of rodenticide being used by non profressionals ???
