brewman im guessing here but they must be close to 100 lbs,the big billies anyway.the nanys I would think are from 40-60 possibly?All I know is I fekin struggle to move them a few feet anyway.

TP guts out there and then,steam pileing out of them,lol.Lee some days im lethal at sharpening them,they turn out great other days I fail miserably,dont ask me why .When I get a few quid im going to buy decent whet stones etc.

Jigs; Half barrel's good thinking. But; It'll want to snag on and butt up against every root and stone, mate.

 

Tarp' would retain the natural fluidity of the carcass, see? It'd flow more naturally. Washing over the terrain, more than bumping and catching on it.

 

And, while, I fully admit, this is just keyboard bound considering ~ the idea came to me as I remembered trying to drag a large carcass, cross country myself. I'd say it should be worth a go.

 

Canvas tarp' is incredibly strong and resilient stuff. It'd be easier carried out there, rolled up and slung across ye lads broad, young shoulders. A sheet less than six foot square would be more than ample, and weigh nothing much.

 

Got to be better than trundling around with a blue beetle in tow? And think of how half a blue barrel would sound, each time it touched an object, during the stalk.

 

Not trying to insist on my notion, mate. But, having dragged shit myself? It's what I'd go with, next time.

pete,after reading your post,i have to admit,you are right,the blue beetle would be getting stuck at the butt end.im going to look in to geting some.duggy,i hope to be out again soon,might leave the dog at home now as the tiny kids are about and you can be sure the mutt will take the first he reaches,couldnt watch a little kid getting hammered.
