Byron; People normally (used to) whistle when they were feeling pleasantly content and at ease with their worlds. A man going to, doing, or coming home from a job he was happy in would whistle.

 

Whistling summed up that 'Not a care in the world' feeling.

 

That's why no one whistles any more. Except, perhaps, in the marbled halls of parliament .....

I do like to whistle ... I am shit at singing and even when I feel like shit because I normally work on my own with my dogs and ferrets it doesn't take long for me to forget my shit and have a little whistle ......

I whistle, if I am a long way from the car and the weathers s**t etc the singing starts, show me the way to go home and for some reason, Simon and Garfunkel songs, especially Scarborough fair :laugh:. If I start to sing Enyas song from The Fellowship of the Rings, My dog knows that I am f*****g knackered :laugh:
