irishnut 297 Posted February 21, 2014 Report Share Posted February 21, 2014 i'm looking at getting a small van derived mpv. around the £4k mark looking at 1) '05/06 citroen berlingo/ pug partner 1.6 and 2.0 hdi 2) '06/07 fiat doblo 1.9 multijet (do fair few carriageway miles so not sure 1.3 multijet would be suitable) 3) last resort would be renault kangoo. is there anything better that i'm leaving out? needs to be big enough for 2 complete mountain bikes (front wheel still on) in the back with seats down. minimum of 4 seats. capable of towing around 1000kg+. around 50 mpg or would i be better looking at vauxhall zafira, ford galaxy/seat alhambra/vw sharan, vw touran etc? i'll drive 90% of the time on my own in the car, as my wife has a nicer car than me for family driving. fox digger 1,086 Posted February 21, 2014 Report Share Posted February 21, 2014 if your into dogs, going accross fields, towing and want comfort and economy i cant rate a honda crv 2.2 turbo diesel high enough. put one of them carrier thingd on the back door for the two bikes and youe elected, as light on diesel as your van and is 4x4.
