OTT! Not related to line breeding but, I do have a hen that has started crowing. Have you come across that before ? It doesn't know if it's a cock or hen :-)

I've herd about hens crowing think there's a topic on ultimate fowl or sabong ..I think it has something to do with dominance in the flock..

I am no Biologist, so can't talk factually. I have come across it before and I always thought it was because there was too much inbreeding to the male side. I have had Hens with Spurs, sort of crowing and dominating males and females when out loose. I like Hens to be Hens.

. Shamo that is the biggest pile of crap I've ever heard!..... All inbreeding will do is concentrate the genes what's already there..... If what your saying was right..... Then if you keep line breeding to hens side after time the cocks will start laying eggs...... Uk

Do you think not having a cock in with her has made a difference ? Taking on the dominant role ?

I think with it been a domance think hen could maybe taking the role of a cock so there for started crowing adding a cock could stop it but I think it could also cause problems between a dominant hen and roo.....

However I'm new to fowl so there's a good chance I'm wrong.....just adding my opinion

I doubt it is "the biggest pile of crap" you have ever heard. Also in order for Cocks to lay Eggs they need the Organs to do it, I suspect the influence of female Hormones wouldn't be that strong. Like I said "I am no Biologist", but did offer a POSSIBLE cause, I had been told many Moons ago may be the cause. I suspect that with you being the expert on all aspects of Game Fowl, whatever solution you come up with is right...lol.
