they arnt worth 120 quid. the coins are a few years old now so you wont find a mint one in your coin jar.

maybe articals like this will push the price up a bit but they still arnt worth much.

buy silver coins, pre decimal. they are real silver and worth a silver value, always. at times of trouble/ recession they are worth more. modern coins are worth what the powers that be tell you they are worth and people who buy/collect they are 1 step away from trainspotters.

just cos one is offered at 120 (with no bids) that dont make it worth 120

Pre decimal does not make the silver coins worth more. Any "Silver" coin minted after 1947 contains no Silver. from 1920 to 1947 they contained 50% Silver. Any silver coin prior to 1920 will contain 92.5 Sterling Silver. If the coin is pre Henry II (12 centuary) it will be 100% silver as to stop the cliping and wear on the coins he introduced the 9.25% standard for silver coins.

Far from being trainspotters there is good money to be made in coins. But to do that you have to know what you are talking about. ;)
