beast 1,884
people, people , people!! two stories spring to mind here, both when i was a bit younger and a lot more fiery! we had a big gsd when i was a lad, rescue dog who was great with the family but didnt like other male dogs much. stayed on a lead whe other dogs were around, and usually walked him late at night. well one evening two collie/lab type things came running up off lead, bristling and snarling at him, tried a couple of nip-and-dart-away type tactics, and Bruce is winding up into a proper fenzy. i'm shouting at the owner who doesnt really seem interested, and as the two dogs are getting braver i let the gsd loose so he could defend himself. well he threw the two dogs around proper, not too much damage but they both shit themselves and ran off, luckily he came back to me. well then the owner runs up and has a go at me!1 words were exchanged, but he f****d off when i finally offered him a choice - either f**k off or i set the dog on you! i wouldnt do that, but he didnt know...... the other time was a few years ago and there was a fella i used to see now and then with a very dominant gsd bitch, used to go for any other bitch in a flash. he used to come out with the old chestnut" oh she's not a problem". well one day she chased after my young lurcher bitch, who was smart and quick enough to keep out the way, but it was obvious to anyone who knew anything about dogs that the gsd only had one thing on its mind, which was to bite my little bitch. enough to say that i ended up grabbing the owner by the collar and putting him up against a tree. i never saw him again since, think he found a new route...
