paulus 26
Here's a question how many inhalations (I hesitate to use the word 'puffs' lol) from the e-cig do you find you need to satisfy the cravings?says in my leaflet for socialites that 3puffs equals to one cigarette, hard to believe but that's what they claim.First draw I took near damn choked me half to death lol felt light headed after i chug on mine far more than i did rollups, in the car, hell even in the shit house your probs only doing it to hear the little beep and see it light up green See that's the thing because you can smoke them anywhere, it makes you smoke more probs. folk smoke them in cinemas etc. if it was an actual roll up you would smoke less, or face a hefty fine for smoking in a non smoking zone strange thing is i don't want a rollup just suck the f**k out of this thing I find they give your more of a hit than one draw of a real one, maybe I'm taking in too much lol i have replaced one habit with another, but a far healthier one, i don't care if i am addicted to it to be honest theres worse things out there to be addicted to, boy bands would be a nightmare

In your box there should be a leaflet will probs tell you how much liquid costs to so many hundred cigarettes. Even if you end up addicted to them it's still better for you and your wallet than smoking the real thing

pesky1972 5,220
I don't know baw my theory is to reduce the nicotine content down gradually to nothing same as with the patches then sack the thing. My mrs has never given up for more than an hour and she's doing well so I'm not complaining. Paulus,I've tried them plastic look a like fags and just didn't really work for us but these ones I got on eBay are great. Aye mate, worth a try. You need to stick to that though, I know folk that's been smoking them for 2 years now and don't like they are going to give up any time soon lol people do not realise theres 2 distinct things to giving up smoking 1 is the nicotine addiction and 2 is the habit, i still smoke the ecig at the back door I'm very much in the 'if you want to stop bad enough, you'll stop' camp. e-cigs for me might be lesser evil than tobacco but as far as stopping smoking goes, they don't address either the addiction or the habit. If you really want to stop smoking these should be used as a short term aide to quitting entirely. I wouldn't be worrying too much about what's in them or what they taste like. I stopped after about a dozen attempts 13 years ago, after smoking for about 14 years, and have enjoyed real benefits of doing so since. When I look back I can't for the life of me understand why I didn't stop sooner.... but then that is the power of the addiction. Some ways I benefitted from stopping; Financial - difficult to say how much stopping has saved me but, I was on about 20 a day. In todays money my brand would be costing me > £3K a year ( double that as my missus stopped at the same time as me). Maybe saved somewhere between 60-100K between us since stopping. No brainer. Social - no more standing outside in the howling wind & pissing rain like a social pariah. No more being an irritable git when I'm 'choking' but haven't got any. No brainer Health - no more sandpaper throat, yellow fingers & general shitty feeling when i've had a heavy weekend on the sauce. Hopefully I'll also have reduced my chances of suffering some of the multitude of smoking related illnesses that might otherwise ruin Christmas. No brainer Family - I'm not teaching my kids to smoke. Studies have proved that kids are much more likely to take up smoking if their parents smoke. Mine did. No brainer They say you need 'will power' to stop. To me that means you need to find all the reasons YOU want to stop, bring them all together, and keep them at the forefront of your mind for when you need it. After a few tough weeks I found I really only needed to fight cravings, which was really the 'habit', a handful of times a day. They were pretty predictable, after meals etc. and once you know they're coming you arm yourself with the reasons not to give in. The cravings get weaker & less frequent over time so that after a few months I hardly even noticed. I believe ANYONE can stop smoking. The problem is that the drug tricks you into thinking that you can't. You just have to take one day at a time and keep in mind the reasons you want to stop. For me the cravings were temporary, the benefits above are permanent. My advice to anyone wanting to stop...., find your reasons and get them clear in your mind and go for it. If you falter, get back up and go again. Not many people quit for good at the first attempt. Apologies if I sound like I'm preaching a bit, I just think more people would stop if they knew how easy it is, especially after the first few weeks!!!
paulus 26
i still believe the ecig is the most significant development as an aid to stopping smoking of the modern age. i have smoked for over 37 years and most of that time i was a 40 to 60 a day man, when i started smoking was seen as normal, as kids we could buy single fags in any shop without anyone batting an eyelid, i have significant heart and lung problems as a result of this, could i have stopped smoking without this ecig? the answer is probably not, my view unless someone can prove different the ecig is safer than walking in a city and breathing without a mask, as far as i can see there are no significant medical issues associated with it, there is a cost saving too, after the initial outlay i am spending a fiver a week on ejuice so i would say i had a better chance to quit with an ecig than will power alone and i suspect this is true of a fair few others,

There's a lot of truth in what your saying there...........................I gave up at the same time as the smoking ban. I just went without , I knew it was the drug i was addicted too not the fags so chewing gums would just prolong the process. I didn't sit down for a fortnight and kept myself busy. I knew the craving would only last a few minutes with that in mind got thou the first few days and the rest is history. The dreams I used to have were crazy mind !!!!
