Burrows Full Of Water...

Dropped the ferrets in a burrow today.... my wee jill was literally swimming through the water in the lower parts if the burrow...

She must have been submerged at some stages through the network of runs...

And were in a part of scotland where the weathers no too bad to be fair.

How yous finding the wet weather? ...

Brilliant for lamping on foot if you dont mind the mud. Lots of rabbits on the ground for me. Just difficult to walk over the fields. If theres a bit of frost to slightly firm it up and stop it clogging together or sinking as you walk, it's a dream.

Ferreting is a goner. My burrows are all underwater to the mouth of the holes.

Could you not have gave those burrows a miss and tried ones higher up i bet all the rabbits are crammed into the drier burrows

There are no higher sets on this permission, there is a mound further up but unfortunately that was on the bunny hungers land, who incidentally where sat watching us.

with the amount of rain weve had alot of sets are washed out in some areas , i like the higher country or beach comeing ,when we have had a wet spell, rabbits like most animals, move when flooded , to higher ground or live in the cover ,hopefully theyll dry out over spring and summer ,and breed plenty
