Cyclists And Hoss Riders ???

Wee story.....

Remember about 15 year ago my mate got himself a pug GTI. Phones me up and we go out for a wee spin around the back roads near me. Anyway the exhaust is pretty loud and we are giving it a bit of welly when in the distance, maybe 5/600 yards away we see a young lassie heading our way on a horse.

So my mate slows right down, into probably 2nd and we cruise up to this lassie. Mate sticks the thumbs up to her and gets the middle bar. Oh is that f*****g right...drops the clutch and revs the tits out the car, rev limiter bouncing away and this horse shaking her about like a rag doll....fpmsl.

Unbelievable.

Do you really think that's funny?

So, if the horse had thrown the rider, damaged the car, or worse, would it still have been funny?

We've all seen inconsiderate road users, some riding bikes, some riding horses, some driving lorries, and yes, some even driving cars.....

There was a scary survey done a few years ago. I can't remember the exact figures, but the majority of male drivers based their decisions on what their legal rights were rather than what was the safest thing to do.

Scary stuff...

Yes I thought then and still do now that it was funny as f**k. It's not law to slow down for a horse, it's common decency to do it though. That's why my mate did....and to be greeted with the middle finger. I hope she shat her pants and learned a bit manners to be honest.

Ok let's have this right if we are being sensible all of a sudden........without fail they will edge up the inside of you at traffic lights or in traffic when there is about a foot of space between th

I don't mind the average cyclist but it's those groups of Lycra clad morons that take over the whole road that get my goat.

I use mine to get to work and the allotment. I don't jump lights and ride as sensible as I can. Some times in tight spots you have to pull out and ride defensive so some prat in a car doesn't try and

So potentially causing a fatal accident for the horse or rider is funny?

Ok, this time you didn't do any damage (that you know of) but what if it had all gone horribly wrong?

Now don't get me wrong here; there are ignorant twats the world over; some ride horses and some drive cars. Given what you've written, I'd probably say that the person who deliberately spooked a horse was much more ignorant.

All this cycling hatred, probably an irrational deep set fear developed in childhood by those who didn't have the mental and physical ability to ride a bike ....................................... If someone rides their bike because they wanna stay fit or get fit and they follow the rules of the road and they are polite, what's the problem :hmm: Also different aspects of cycling have and will, help some youngsters that would have failed academically, make a success of their lives in all different ways. To say that all cyclists are c***s is like saying that all white van drivers are obnoxious arseh**es........................ I ride a bike and drive a van so that makes me an arseh**e and a c**t. Oh well, at least the old middle age spread is being kept at bay, while the van driving, donut eating cyclist hater will have to burn off the old calories a different way, wanker signs at the nearest cyclist should do it . Life is too short for such animosity, maybe there should be a hug a cyclist day................................I'm sorry I cant take all this seriously anymore, at the end of the day if someone flattens a cyclist or causes a horse rider to suffer paralysis and it is the drivers fault, I think reality would sink in real fast

I have to cycle down to work, I don't go on the roads if I can help it. The shite driving of 95% of drivers in this town means i'd be under the wheels of a motor before the week was out!

As a cyclist my pet hates are people walking their dogs on long leads right across cycle paths, people walking down cycle paths who won't move (wtf is that all about?), people who walk across your path without looking, dodgy drivers....i'm sure there's more.

This is what I don`t get

I once had a bloke revving f**k out his car, edging me out the way in a town centre, when I had THE CHILD TRAILER on the bike,

I tried to get him to stop but he did a runner,,, but what was he thinking ???

Did he actually want to kill a child because a bike was on the road ?? what is this utter hatred for ???

Do people really thing that they would feel better killing a childs father because he rides a bike ?? should people like that be allowed to drive
