Either will humanely kill small vermin with a shot to the head. .177 being the smallest of the two is faster and flies a bit flatter than a .22 pellet which has a more curved trajectory but, .22 hits hard and transfers more shock energy being a bigger, heavier round which presents more frontal area to the target. Neither is more accurate than the other as both are capable of single hole pellet groups at 50 yards if you know how to shoot to that standard Pianoman 1 Quote Link to post
