gnasher16 30,535
Well what a turn up that was.....havent watched it back on telly yet but i think the last thing anyone expected was a tactical stand off with boos ringing round the gaff i thought it was a pretty poor fight really all things considered.............i cant for the life of me understand why Groves wasnt trying to build on the success he had in the first fight he got it totally wrong in my opinion, far too passive, didnt use any angles just stood in front of him......i have to say last nights show was the perfect example for me of just how important getting the best trainer you can is....im always banging on about it but Groves and Kevin Mitchell both came unstuck last night......Kevin is with a good trainer in Tony Simms but he was busy in Froch,s corner and couldnt give Kevin the time he needed and he ended up missing the weight......Jimmy Tibbs would never of taken his eye off him between weigh in and fight yet Kevin was left to his own devices and f****d it up !!...............Then Groves with his attitude of " i only need someone to carry a water bottle ".....i still believe Adam Booth would of made a huge difference in Groves performance, maybe he still wouldnt beat Froch but he would of gone out there with a plan.............it was so obvious Froch was going to fight a cagey fight which was why Groves had to draw him onto mistakes like he did in the first fight but he just had no direction its almost like he didnt really know how to play it.......you have to give yourself the best chance and Groves didnt do that, something he will possibly regret in years to come...............Great performance from Froch he did what he does best and could probably go on years against opponents who are going to make it as easy as Groves did........maybe when i watch it back on telly it will be different but seemed like a very poor performance from Groves.

delswal 3,819
Never rated Groves as a world class fighter and if froch fights anybody slightly better he will loose ! ???????? i agree with what your saying as in groves not world class (YET), but if froch fights anybody slightly better he will lose ?? you think froch's previous 12 title fights were against opponents poorer than Groves ? kessler , dirrel , taylor ,abraham, and lucian bute , all them are better fighters than groves imo , Groves needs to change his management team , if he does that one day he may just well become world champion, until he does i don't think he ever will.

My personal opinion is I don't rate Groves as world class and yet he still caught Froch easy . Now if Froch fights someone that is world class that can truly bang such as Ward he will loose . With hes age at this stage of hes career .

Zerky 133
Really wanted Groves to win, I spent hours watching fights and interviews over the last few months on you tube but the best man won on the night simple as that!! I think now Froch will take a fight in Vegas and pass on the Degale fight (even though im sure he would beat him). Then that will in a couple of fights time Groves vs Degale (then Groves wins again imo). Gutted for Groves but haho that's fighting in all ways only takes one on the button to finish it. *The*Field*Marshall* 674
Well, for those who thought Groves was ahead at the time of the KO, I must've been watching the first fight! I thought Carl dictated the tempo, controlled the distance and was pretty much in control throughout. . Grove's best punch was jab that snapped Froch's head back. . I think that was the real Carl Froch that turned up tonight and George Groves was given a reality check. . I'd like to see Froch tick his box of fighting in Vegas and see Grove v Degale for the IBF belt that Froch vacates. . Well done chunky, proved me wrong. . Ps am I the only one who's got a crush on Carl Froch's mrs?!? She is one attractive lady. . Wouldn't fancy telling him that though :-/ haha. thats scouse birds for ye she used to work in a bar in allerton village that i used to drink inThat's it then, I'm moving to Liverpool ! . . delswal 3,819
will frotch fight andre ward again? will ward fight froch is more the question... Not in the UK he won't thats for sure, Ward won't travel no matter what he's offered, Ward without doubt has the skill and ability to take Froch 12 rds every time and beat him every time , but get the fight in Frochs back yard and make it his last fight , what a tear up it would be…………. but i doubt it will ever happen. TUFFTY 1,484
Hopefully he will fight Sakio Bika next for the WBC belt.
MickC 1,825
Froch will fight Degale for a number of reasons, firstly Froch has always slated Degales performances and venues he has fought at,secondly it is a very easy fight to make, thirdly it would be a big fight in Britain, fourthly it would bring in more money than any Vegas fight and fifthly degales style is made for Froch,he fights off the ropes, turns off in fights and loses focus and he doesnt have the power to trouble Froch one bit. Another thing is Degale has also slated Froch a lot.Froch would destroy him a lot easier than he did Groves. As for Groves he will come back and fight in Europe for his new promoters who just happen to also promote Abraham and Steiglitz who keep swapping the WBO strap between them so a few wins and he could get a shot at who ever has the strap ,and he could beat them two easily, infact he should have went this route rather than fighting Froch in the first place. At the end of the day its no shame for Groves to lose to Froch as he is the number two in the division and only Ward can beat him.
