Froch V Groves Ii

Recommended Posts

saying all that, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Froch wins, it's a very intriguing fight as they've both proved they can seriously hurt each other, Froch's temperament in big fights is unquestionable and Groves proved he could handle the step up to true world level.

You can never predict boxing with any certain accuracy which is why i'm stll as obsessed with the sport as i was as a little kid!

I've got a sparring session with one of my fighters planned for Saturday afternoon, he's 10 years younger than me and a real banger so hoping i don't get KO'd and miss the big fight, if that happens he's getting booted out the gym for good

Just flicked through some of the posts so sorry if im repeating anything thats already been said.....it strikes me how differently big fights are promoted these days compared to years ago it seems we,

As Satan said if Groves is disciplined it could be an easy nights work..........if like last time he gets over confident and decides to macho it out......it will be the same outcome.   You can bet y

Well, for those who thought Groves was ahead at the time of the KO, I must've been watching the first fight! I thought Carl dictated the tempo, controlled the distance and was pretty much in control t

I disagree with pretty much everything you've said. Lol.

Fight prep isn't just physical. It's mental. Which you will know I'm sure?

If I told you that you were gonna fight a kid tomorrow who hasn't done much and you will walk all over him, and then a tough strong fighter is put in front of you then you wouldn't be prepared. Mentally.

It's not something I want to argue with you over the internet about though.

We will see on Saturday won't we

the difference is though Groves wont stand and take it he will out box Froch again

WHY does everyone keep saying Froch was at the worst when he clearly wasnt it is well documented that froch is very obssesive when it comes to training

he had far to much to loose in the last fight to be cutting corners and he used that as an excuse because he was clearly out boxed by someone he didnt rate

Yep and i don't think either Froch or Groves mental state can be questioned after the first fight, they both imposed themselves at various times, the vast majority of people thought Groves would not be able to cope in the first fight, and he did very well, rightly or wrongly he feels he was stopped too early and was fine to continue, only he can really know how badly hurt he was and if his head was clear, but if he does, his confidence will be sky high that he can go out, outbox Froch again then box a more controlled second half of the fight and win.

And we definitely will see, i've been made to look a mug when predicting boxing many times, so look forward to getting ripped to shreds on here if it happens again

Froch was proper nervous on his ring walk for the first fight,he knew what lay ahead . I watched Froch/Groves behind the ropes on SKY last night and I didnt realise how badly hurt Froch was off the knockdown,if that had happened earlier in the round Groves would have stopped him. As for the comment that made Froch push him away on the face off at wembley, all he said was " can you hold it together Carl " .

My main concern with frotch is age he is a lion but age catches up with every one time , tide , and ready mixed concrete waits for no man , groves now knows frotch is beaterble in the early rounds and i fully expect him to come out all guns. Blazing both will be in peak condition frotch has been here before Ive changed my mind time and time again on this one only hope it lives up to the hype , mentaly froch is as strong as they come , But like some one ha allready said time will tell.

Froch muat have been at his best in the last fight because if he wasnt he would have stayed down when dropped in first round. It was an excuse to say he was not at his best but I suppose he had to say something rather than give groves credit.i can see groves stopping him this time.

i really cant get my head around people completely writing Groves off could some one please explain

stabba what makes you think froch has had enough time to improve on his last performance especially with the age difference ?

4 of us have followed froch since his am days the same 4 that followed tony Sibson and to be fair were all a bit surprised how far frochs come he`s about at the end of the road but we`ve had some cracking nights out and he`s given the city a lift we thought the bute fight would be his last likewise with Kessler one thing he can do is dig deep I`d like to see him beat groves and have his swan song v de gale at the city ground not just because he`s an home town fighter but for what he`s done for british boxing at a time when its not been at its best and rife with world champions I`ll put money on froch because I`m a fan but honestly I don't think you could call this one even at his age froch comes on stronger later in a fight but he can tear it up like the bute fight early on I don't think you can really compare the 2 fights be a different ball game Saturday .....i`m starting to waffle so that's me till after the fight
i think froch or groves would destroy de gale do you stig

I think degales a long way off ----heard an interview froch did on local radio today and there was a big hint that this could be his last fight ,,,

Froch better win I cant stand listening to that cocky ginger twat any longer...Grooves problem is she aint got the wind and she cannot take Karls power once it starts getting through. Her eyes were nearly closed last time and Froch hadnt got through with much. The fight ended early but it was in Groves favour because she would i think of been stopped but this way shes got a second chance...but so has Karl.

do you not remember a young Froch calling calzaghe out and ripping him publicly Froch was every bit as cockey when he was young as Groves is being now its the hunger and the confidence these boys have to have to fight at such a level

No I dont remember Froch being nasty or disrespectful...People like Groves are bad loosers aswell..Froch has always been dignified in defeat...Why did Groves apologise to Froch after the fight and why does he need the so called psycological edge if hes so good with his fists. I think because deep down hes a nasty little man.
