Nick3439 83
Thanks Mick20 I think they are only young I was out this morning with them and there was thumping under ground but nothing came of it . I think it will just take time . And no permission just poaching ... Naughty naughty! Could it be that you are hyper aware of how long you have been on the plot as you're not supposed to be there so you've not given them enough time down? Quote Link to post
Kile 21
No no I give them all the time and chances that they need they just don't seem to want to go down the hole. I think repetition is the way forward Quote Link to post
Kile 21
Just an update . I was out ferreting today trying to get the ferrets used to the game trying all morning without much look, it came to 12pm and I decided to head home on the way back through the woods where I was ferreting. My oldest lurcher was marking a one wholer half his body was down this hole also he was scratching at it, so I thought why not !! So I put the ferret down the hole thinking I will not bother netting the hole .. About 20 seconds later the sound of thumping under foot , I could not believe it so I put a hand made net on quickly and 10 seconds later the rabbit bolted into the net, fantastic ..! Then I thought I would try her again and once again my dog was down this one wholer net on ferret in dang bang thud second rabbit in the net . Over the moon !! My new addition the the hunt was my new lurcher a bull x whippet heavy jawed not good for food for the pot but still good to have . 3 Quote Link to post
