baw 4,360 Posted February 13, 2014 Report Share Posted February 13, 2014 well i agree with baw,. there a suprise eh lol the independence thread was ok,even a mod was debating.there was no reason for it to be locked. matt the rat appears and within 2mins of coming on thread it was locked,so there was no time for him to really moderate and see if anything breached the rules. serious question to the mods is matt the rat above you in the pecking line or something. you all seemed to be happy with the thread continuing,until he come on . been on here for a few year now and the on the whole its been a pretty fair system.but that was ridiculous and totally not needed. if he does not like the scots/or the independence issue or whatever f*****g reason he seems to be offended by this, why does he even go on the thread? it sure as f**k wasnt to moderate it! The reason I asked to be deleted was because of Matt the rat mate. Deleting my retorts to someone getting stuck into me, what's the point? It's only very rarely another mod disagrees and reverses that decision. We do it as little as possible, as we can't be bothered with the ensuing arguments that inevitably follow. Each locking or deleting is a judgment call and won't always be popular, but we TRY to make the site a good-natured and legal place to be. With the Independence topic, it was only a matter of time. It wasn't a topic any more, it was pages and pages of copied and pasted propaganda - almost as if the OP had an agenda rather than simply wanting to discuss it. It had got to the point of practically spamming the shit out of THL on a daily or even hourly basis. I don't know who locked it, but there was a note to say we could unlock it if we disagreed with the decision. To be brutally honest, I didn't care enough about it either way to bother. scothunter 12,609 Posted February 13, 2014 Report Share Posted February 13, 2014 well thats a shit way of running things. what about breach of the rules being a reason, not just because one person does not like the particular topic. i agree the last one was pages of cut and pasting,and it was rather annoying scrolling through it,but harldy a reason walshie come on, there other topics run into pages of jewtube vids music vids etc. i have not the slightest interest in boxing. so i never ever click on the topic, The one last night there was no reason to lock it.,and like i said he didnt even have time to read one page before it was locked. walshie thats fine mate you think its a load of shite this referendum and thats ok bud. but ima scot and funnily enough i find this more important tome than what kind of soap,or biscuit eat. so matt just so i know where you stand and before i engage in my brain and time in writing out a response to a referendum question if it happens to come up again,are you just going to casually come along and delete it or lock it? and if he is saying to other mods they can overturn the decision ,he cant be that sure of is moderating. Just to clear things up mate: The music thread wouldn't be quite the same if you just typed "I'm listening to Radar Love by Golden Earring". A video so others can listen is good. If the SAME person just put up vid after vid of EDL shite on a thread, day after day, with seemingly no opinion of his own, that is spamming, so of course it would be closed down.
