you know most of the news has been dedicated to the horrendous floods in devon. harrowing watching what these peoples are having to go through.

well tonight all of the news was about the thames valley.5min if that about devon. its shocking how they are so blatant, is it just that we have really dumb politicians,or are they just so concieted and arrogant they dont actually care how it looks to the rest of the country.

People keep banging on about dredging, but now the water meadows are gone, and they continue to build on flood plains what do they expect. Also, if you build up banks to stop the rivers flooding over the fields like they have done for centuries previously, it will naturally raise the level of the river. Combine that with flood defences to protect the new housing/towns and it's gona start backing up. It ain't rocket science!

As Cameron has said on more than one occasion, "were in it together". I feel that the bankers and stock brokers are worthy of the extra attention that they are receiving, it is vital that they can get to their places of employment to diligently ensure that their good work is carried on, in the way that it has been for decades; these people are responsible for making the UK the financial powerhouse that it is today, if the rest of us have to suffer for the benefit of these financial giants then so be it.........................come on people, stop moaning, you've never had it so good..................................................................FFS

We're on a limb at the best of times down here... Good I say normally.... But No rail service, buses are... Well shit lol... Has just about left some people marooned....Somerset has been under water for months ( my brothers best mate, a marine, has had to move in with him for certain nights as he can't get in and out if his village in Somerset, only access is a boat),

As people have said building on flood plains together with no dredging for 20 odd years is an accident waiting to happen, there was a warning a couple of years back, did the powers that be act... Did they f**k.

Terrible situation for a lot of people, 5 miles down the road in Dawlish, the railway has been swept away, 100 plus ft waves in Cornwall... Every so often nature reminds you who's boss..
