Born Hunter 17,841
Are attacks and deaths becoming more common or is it just being reported more or is it just that I'm noticing it more? Seems like a child is being mauled every few months or so..... Edited February 11, 2014 by Born Hunter
Nik_B 3,790
Hard to say BH. The papers are saying there was a marked increase from 2005 but you can read anything in to that, probably that's when they started collecting data.

Seems like a child is being mauled every few months or so..... Common sense gone out the window, and more shite temperament dogs being bred, plus in old days only largish dog you would commonly see was a German shepherd. But amount of free or cheap sub adult dogs out there it's too tempting for someone to get.and people will lie to get rid of it. That girl killed while ago by the American bulldog ,it was a stray, history unknown, then rehomed near a kid, complete madness.
danw 1,748
I genuinely believe a lot of the problem is people just don't realise the dog they have taken in is an animal and reacts with instinct rather than rational thought for too long society has tried to convince is that animals in all forms share the same thoughts and emotions that humans do they do not.

Plummerterrier 291
its ridiculous a freind got a dog recently off a random guy over facebook for fifty quid and its absolutly massive makes our leggy staff who is quite big look tiny when we were used to him being so big. too many folk breeding dogs for looks and thinking the bigger the better and to get a bit of street cred then when they get sick the dog gets passed from pillar to post and people excpect them to be good family dogs.
Huan72 687
I don't know about anyone else, but I was told from a boy onwards, never, ever leave any dog alone with a baby. Its one of the golden rules, babies make strange noises that can cause reactions in dogs, any dog, even the friendly family pet can be triggered by a baby. Leaving any dog alone with a baby is taking a massive risk, setting the baby up to harm and setting the dog up to fail.
Ideation 8,216
Do you notice..... You never see a kid mauled by a dog that wasn't owned by idiots?
