So space exploration is a complete waste of resource?

Lab, it's not what we find on the Red planet that's of real importance, it's what we learn getting there and back.......

Lab, it's been estimated that NASA has given a ten fold return in investment through technology produced in its reach for the stars. That sounds a pretty good investment does it not? Like I said, it's not what we find on Mars but what we learn in getting there.

We're very comfortable in the environment that the Earth provides us with. One day maybe millenia from now we will benefit from being comfortable in taking steps outside of this Earth. Let's be proactive and take those small steps now.......... especially if those small steps will see short term returns from their investment.

Each planet will have huge resources of metals. Also and more importantly is finding a supply of water and hydrocarbons (oil). It is certain that there was water on Mars so the question is whether it supported life. It's possible there is oil on Mars although so far unlikely.
