Dimorphic Canaries

Went to a sale to day and ther was 3 pair of dimorphic canaries in thay did not sell I asked what the reserve was and was told £20 , was tho a fair price , I know nothing about canaries but would like some , just wondering if it was a fair price , been thinking about them all day !

good price for healthy stock per pair.atb bunnys. ps try to obtain young stock usually a good reason for the no sale .

Is dimorphic a breed ? , and how do I tell if there young ? I have room for a few breeding cages and When I get my garden sorted am going to make a small flight , are thay a good starter bird thanks

Dimorphic is the old term, there now called mosaic. 20 is a very good price , but it really depends on what type they were. yellow or red. but there are loads more. there yound should be easy to sex after they moult, with cocks have a stong mask that covers most of face and eyes. and hens just having faint markings around the eyes. but you can get a poorly marked cocked and stongly mask on a hen. i hopw this helps
