bigmac 97kt 13,858 Posted February 10, 2014 Report Share Posted February 10, 2014 Well me and daz had not been out together for a while up at the farm since he got his perm ,so it was time to catch up and do a bit of shooting together and to hear all about his perm i got there a bit before him and as i drove in i spotted one but the rifle was in the boot so i drove around one of the buildings stopped and got the rifle out walked up but it had moved behind a fence pole and i could only see its back end and if i had moved to the right it would of ran off so i squeaked it and the little fecker still ran off . So back in the car and parked her up got my self sorted and had a wander down to vislauk,s hole in the hedge his favorite spot two at about 60 yards and one at about 35 yards witch did one as soon as it saw me but the other two just sat the light was fading fast and even though i could see them with out looking through the scope,s when i did look in the scope,s i could not make them out very good so i went into my pocket for the battery and quietly put it into the lamp ,flicked it on and they were off ,ran like hell but one stopped. So i took aim and instead of a little phewwww it went BANG ,now i know my rifle may look like a shell gun to some people but it does not sound like one.The bolt had moved when i had it on my shoulder now this happens quite a lot with this rifle as im right handed and i carry the rifle on my right shoulder and it catches my coat so i normally use the lamp to carry it, like a handle that's why even in the day light its fitted to my rifle (on some of the photos iv posted on here). Well he was off to so i settled in to do what i do best lay in wait for them to come back out twenty mins past and i flicked the lamp on and one was back out at 27 yards (paced) so i let one jsb15,89 go and gave him his supper he lay down but was twitching so i gave him another and he lay still now when i picked him up i could still feel him moving but he was dead it was like little tremors running through his body so i pulled his neck but the tremors were still coming this lasted for a few mins .I have not had this happen to me before. I then went back to the car put the rabbit in the boot then headed off to see if the first rabbit had come back out flicked the lamp on and it was sitting there again so over the fence i went i got to with in 35 yards of it when it did one. Then i got a tx off daz to say he would be 20 mins and he would meet me at the car when daz came by me i was still in the little garden so i walked down whistling as i went daz said some one sounds happy but i cant see eny thing hanging from your belt , i say,ed no then opened the boot and threw the rabbit on the ground and say,ed no but i did not miss that one.Daz set off to zero his scope in and i had a cuppa then we set off but every thing had gone nothing about not a thing but daz had spotted two then i lit up a fox trying to get up to the two that daz had lit up but they ran and so did the fox. We then went into some other fields but nothing about the fox must have been in them to so we headed back to the car for another cuppa and a natter before we set off again but it was much the same so after a walk back to the hole in the hedge with nothing there to we headed back to the car and headed back home so just the one but better than nothing and a catch up with a good mate and a top man atvbmac 6 Quote Link to post

I took the rabbit to the butchers, so I'll hold on to your money till I see ya again. He said he sold my 4 last weeked in 20 mins!!!! Said "keep em coming, I can sell them faster than you can shoot them". haha. Felt great to drive into the farm last night, forgot how much I missed the place! MIND, it also reminded me how much you have to work for your rabbits too! Not like being on a plate up at mine! Going to go on a major offensive at work and get this buddy thing sorted. Looking forward to dry land and a goo mooch down the long walk! It isn't the same not being able to tramp down there! Catch you again soon buddy! 1 Quote Link to post
