Personally I see nothing wrong with what the zoo has done. As I have told many people when flying my hawk. "They dont eat beans on toast" The animal had to be put down so why waste it?   TC

What's all the fuss about? It was a cull animal and shock horror got culled..... There was a que of bleeding heart Disney-ites crying to save it and even money offered for it's life and the Zoo did th

. Are you having a giraffe.

Bloody hell, there are some hypocritical posts in this thread. This is a hunting forum, whose membership consists (in the main) of people who kill animals for food, and dare I say it, sport.... Who are we to judge the actions of this establishment? On what facts are we basing this judgement? Those printed in the press? The next time the papers run a story about cruel hunters, just cast your mind back to this thread and the way in which we've all judged the zoo, rightly or wrongly. The only important facts in this story are that it was killed humanely, and it's body was not wasted. Everything else is just hearsay and politics.

hows it hypocritical? the giraffe was fed some bread like it was everyday and then blasted in the head with a bolt gun while it was eating it.....id hardly call that hunting.... Edited by clipo

Yes....but you can surely see why it looks a bit hypocritical? You eat meat, hunt for food and fun may I add but you find a giraffe being humanely slaughtered and fed to lions as something wrong?

If anything I thought the way it was done in involving the children was a touch of class. Learning them about the way the world works.

This country there would be antis scaling the walls and the management staff at the zoo would be struck off!!

its like them elephants Charlie and son are trying to save, the sad fact is there worth more dead than alive, that`s why there not being protected properly, if there were making money by people being able to shoot them or even from tourism then they would already have the protection they need, but shooting elephants. lions and other large animals is seen as taboo by the majority but a managed pheasant or grouse shoot is fine to most :icon_eek: the only way animals will be saved from extinction is if they add value to the balance sheet :whistling:

its my new answer to the antis, sustainable hunting is the only way to save wildlife, support the gun trade and save an elephant :laugh:
