baw 4,360
I don't think it's right to kill a healthy animal like that for the sake of European red tape. I thought that was what the problem was or am I missing something?
Accip74 7,112
I worked at a top end zoo for 10 years, you'd be amazed at what goes on, we just don't always hear about it or care, because the animal is not high profile enough........

gonetoearth 5,144
Life and death. Heathly young get killed every day in the wild , they made. A decision there vets etc , what i cant understand is why. Your all going about it. , like i said should have let the lions kill it. Not for sport but to let the lions do what they do naturally KILL. Born Hunter 17,837
What's all the fuss about? It was a cull animal and shock horror got culled..... There was a que of bleeding heart Disney-ites crying to save it and even money offered for it's life and the Zoo did the sensible thing and shot it for lion feed and education for school kids. They didn't bow to this 21stC soft attitude where we seem to think nothing dies and every animal is equal and has equal rights to life in nature. A good lesson for the kids IMO.

General lee 979
Can't see any problem with that the lions needed food the giraffe wasn't needed they fed it to the lions that's the way the world works and the sooner kids see it the better children are babied to long these days

Yeh ,, I know I contradict myself having ferrets in cages courts ect,,,,and I know most of you Avery men look after your birds with real dedication,,, But yeh part of me thinks,,,, be best if they were in the wild,,, By the way I don't think snakes and reptiles should be kept either,,,, sound like a right anti,,don't I,,lol
TOMO 27,313
Born,,,gte,,,ect,,,, I don't think the lads on here really give a feck,,, I know I don't ,,,, I think it was more the zoos reasoning,,, saying about breeding,,, when a quick snip would solve the problem,,, or even just moving a female when she's in season... On the other side ,, I love the fact they got the kids involved,,, I think more zoos should do that with feeding times ect,,,or maybe they do,,,,can any zoo keepers tell us ?

Like the zoo said though Tomo, the animal was genetically inferior and the resource would be better saved for one that is of superior quality. Yeah there was money offered to save it and petitions etc but that'd just be bending to sentiment and imo send the wrong message to the public.
