ditch / hedge dog

Recommended Posts

is this normal over the past month my 10 month old lurcher will not kennel up if you leave him in the kennel all day(whilst at work) he howls very long and loud. this has got me a letter from the council because one of my neihbours made a complaint. i have to leave him in the garden with the kennel door open for shelter. he will not shelter in the kennel but prefers to sleep under the hedge or trees even in the nastiest weather. he is also a theif will steel anything you put down is this normal only happy when in a hedge or dich

When my kelpie bitch was a pup she used to to squeeze through the bars of her run and make a bed under a sack of compost and some old plastic crates and my last lurcher was forever dragging his blanket out of his kennel to sleep out in the open; oh well, each to their own.

My terriers are the same If I am at home I leave the kennel doors open and let them run around in the paddock and I very often look out the back window to see what they are up to and the 3 of them are lying curled up in a corner rather than go inside their kennels, even when its pissing down :blink:
